Conference Bid

Dear Members,

The Board of Directors is deliberating about conference options (including a possible virtual conference) for 2022.  Members will be informed of our decision.  Meanwhile, we are announcing the call for bids to host the 2023 CODA International Conference.  Please note that 2023 will be the 40th anniversary of the founding of CODA International.  Any region or country is welcome to submit a bid for hosting. Proposals must be submitted by completing the Conference Bid Form by clicking here no later than 1 June 2021.  A list of questions that must be answered on the Form can be found by clicking here.

To be considered as host of the conference, the proposed bid must include the following information: 

  •  Hotel space for 350 people 
  •  30 day cut off for hotel block 
  •  Online booking option 
  •  Training rooms – 9 rooms 
  •  Hospitality Suite 
  •  Large hall for social events 
  •  Conference Space and Hotel must be under the same roof
    • Preference given for branded hotels (Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, etc)
  • No more than 35 miles/56 km from nearest commercial airport 
  • 2 Co-Chairs, maximum of 5 other members 
  • Pre & Post Conference events 
  • Bid Narrative of up to 5 pages

Ensure that all requested information is submitted on the bid submission form, in order for the Board to accept it as complete. We would like bidding groups to present their bid to the full Board of Directors and be available to address any further questions, at the time of presentation. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the bidding presentation will be conducted virtually. Once all bids have been received, the Executive Board will furnish you with the information regarding the virtual bid presentation logistics.     CODA International is a private organization maintained and governed by CODA International members. Codas being persons who have one or more parent with a demonstrable and verifiable hearing loss. Non-Codas interested in becoming Supporting Members are encouraged and highly welcomed. Persons joining as a voting member or registering for CODA International conference or specified events, found to be non-Coda will automatically have their status changed to Supporting Member and any dues or fees paid to CODA will be forfeited. The privacy and security of all registered members is a top priority for the purpose of admittance, denials, and revocations.
