CODA members,

Here's your opportunity to help CODA International continue to advance its mission for Codas all over the world! With new strategic goals launching soon and many new initiatives on the horizon, CODA needs and welcomes the enthusiastic participation of its members on the Board of Directors. If you know of someone who is interested, or you are interested yourself, please go forth and nominate! 

You may ask, what would your responsibilities entail should you achieve the position you seek? 

Here are some of the main functions of a CODA Board member:

These functions include but are not limited to:

*Oversee the direction and management of the organization 

*Lead and/or assist with specific projects 

*Participate with committees and action teams 

*Recruit new members 

*Ensure a solid, balanced budget 

*Contribute to the organization's financial success

*Represent CODA members at conferences and meetings 

*Be able to have a 48-72 hour return time on all email correspondence 

*Be flexible and cognizant with the amount of volunteer hours you are able to put in

*Be able to commit several days for meetings before the annual conference commence


This year’s 2017 elections will be held for the following 5 positions and for a period of 2 years:


REGION I: NJ, NY, PA, MA, DE, VT, NH, WV, CT, ME, RI 

(Currently Vacant)

REGION III: IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, OH, WI 

(Currently held by Suzanne Nace)

REGION V: CA, NV, HI, OR, WA, UT, AK, AZ, ID 

(Currently held by Robin Dragoo)

REGION VII:  International, Southern Hemisphere 

(Currently held by Jayde Perry)

Member At Large (MAL): Any Region 

(Currently held by Jennifer Scarboro-Hensley)

Here are the guidelines for nominations:

Please read carefully in order to successfully guide your decision.

*Nominations may be made only by CODA members in CURRENT standing (since January 2015) 

*A CURRENT member must have been a member for the last 1 year to be nominated

*The nomination must be accepted by the nominee

*Reach out to the member prior to your submission for their approval and membership status

*Nominee must live in the Region to represent it (MAL is excluded from this)

Be sure to include: 

*Your Nominee’s First and Last Name

*Membership Status 

*Email Address

*Physical Mailing Address 

*Country code /Area code and Phone number 

And send your submission to: elections@coda-international.org 

Deadline for submission: 28 February 2017

***1 March 2017*** The Announcement of Nominations

***1 April 2017***   The Formal Election Slate, Ballot, and Bios of each Nominated Candidate 

***1 April 2017***   Voting Period Begins 

***1 May 2017***    Voting Period Ends

***3 May 2017***    Your Election Results 

 

The Newly-Elected Board of Directors will take office at the conclusion of the CODA International Conference at CODA-Can, 13-16 July 2017


For those who may not be comfortable taking on a Board position, but are still interested in furthering our common goals, the Board encourages you to volunteer on one CODA International's numerous committees! Please contact secretary@coda-international.org with your interest! We can always use an extra HAND!
